THE CRANS-MONTANA REGION
At altitudes of 1,500 to 3,000 meters above sea level, the Crans-Montana ski area positions itself in front of a breathtaking panorama across 140 kilometers of dedicated slopes facing south. With runs for all types of skiers, ranging from the peaks overlooking the Plaine-Morte glacier to the golf course on the high plateau, passing by the snowpark and its superb halfpipe, the area is varied and promises days of unforgeatable skiing and snowboarding.
After a long days ski, relax in more than 20 mountain restaurants, some run by renowned chefs, and during the day there’s no shortage of opportunities to stop on a sunny terrace.
Crans-Montana is also the host of the Alpine Skiing World Cup events. Each year, the best athletes compete on the formidable Mont-Lachaux piste, offering a thrilling spectacle and great atmosphere.
SKIING IN CRANS-MONTANA
Lift infrastructure at Crans Montana is of a quality expected in a large Swiss Alps ski resort. There are the three main access gondolas from the villages, with two in locations difficult for pedestrians to easily access.
Across much of Switzerland, dynamic lift pass pricing (based on demand) is being introduced to encourage skiers to visit the resort throughout the breadth of the season. Crans Montana has introduced the system from season 2019/20. You can purchase Crans Montana lift passes online.

Children and beginner skiers are well catered for with dedicated nursery slopes and relaxed slopes, whilst intermediate skiers have a choice of endless green, blue and red runs to perfect their technique or simply cruise from one mountain village to the next. For those looking to test themselves, Crans-Montana has plenty of mogul fields, powder covered couloirs and the infamous Mont-Lachaux piste.
With the majority of the pistes lying above 1,500 metres, Crans-Montana is one of the snow-sure resorts in the Alps with the lifts running from mid November through to the middle of April.
NON-SKIING ACTIVITIES IN CRANS-MONTANA
