The Portes du Soleil resort ranges from 1050m to 2300m with stunning panoramic views onto the Dents du Midi and Dents Blanches mountain ranges. Cable-cars take you directly up to 2000m and into a winter & summer sports playground, offering extensive skiing (650km of groomed slopes), mountain biking (World Cup host venue) and exceptional scenery for a variety of breathtaking hikes.
The Champéry Region
Champéry village sits in a stunning valley bordering France, near the eastern edge of Lac Léman in Valais. It is part of the world famous Les Portes du Soleil, the worlds largest skiing, biking and hiking domain.
Champéry makes up one of 12 of the villages within the gigantic Portes du Soleil ski area. The region is a wonderful example of modern luxury meeting traditional charm, with gorgeous Swiss architecture at every turn.
Skiing in Champéry
Start you ski or snowboard adventure with one of Champéry’s highly efficient ski lifts, taking you up to the altitude of 2000 metres in less than five minutes. Here you have the vast Portes du Soleil ski resort as your playground, guaranteeing excitement in all directions.
Champéry is home to the world’s largest international ski area, with slopes for all abilities, from begginer to expert. In 2020 Champéry became the first village in Valais to host an Olympic event, with the Youth Olympic curling taking place in Lausanne.
Portes du Soleil
The Portes du Soleil is the world’s oldest cross-border ski area. The ski destination links the alpine regions of Swiss Valais to French Chablais. These mountain slopes are a singular link between two countries and two cultures, offering some of the best skiing globally.

Winter in Champéry
Champéry comes into its own in the winter, with adventure, opportunity and excitement at every turn. With snow sports being the number one attraction in the region. The area offers some of the longest and diverse ski runs globally. The ski runs in Champéry allow for cross-border skiing from Switzerland to France, or vice-versa. Modern, highly efficient ski lifts allow direct access to the 2000m mountains in less than five minutes. From here you have an incredible variety of slopes and ski grades to test your skills on. With eight blue slopes, eight red slopes, and four black slopes.
But Champéry has far more to offer than snow sports alone, the winter months turn the area into a picture perfect, snow covered paradise. Take a wonder through dense forest in the valleys, or take to the mountains on one of the hundreds of hiking trails. You’re guaranteed to be in awe of the incredible sights in every direction.

Summer in Champéry
The summer season in Champéry starts in early June and closes late September. Like most of Valais, Champéry sees temperatures in excess of 25 degrees in the summertime. The warm summer climate causes the snow to melt at lower levels, revealing a deep green, and luscious landscape. The skyline is dominated by the majestic Dents-du-Midi & Dents Blanches, still capped with snow due to their higher altitude.
While skiing is still open at higher levels due to excellent cable car access, the summer seasons are more widely known for the adrenaline surging mountain bike routes. Some of the world’s best mountain bike trails are revealed by the melting snow, with routes for all experiences & abilities. With loads of bike and scooter rental facilities in Champéry village, you’ll be zooming down the mountains in no time.
If you’d rather keep your heart rate below 120 bpm, Champéry offers plenty of relaxing activities in the summer time. The thriving forests in the area make an enchanting & peaceful walk, expect to encounter streams winding their way to crystal clear lakes as you wander your way through trails etching the sides of the surrounding mountains.

Only 1.5 hours from Geneva, Champéry sits on the France-Switzerland border, making up part of the world-famous snow sports and mountain biking area, the Port du Soleil.
